Al Duca serving classy Italian food without too many frills or astronomical prices is the avowed aim of this sophisticated St James's restaurant just off Jermyn Street. It opts for stylish simplicity with its traditional Italian terracotta and olive colour schemes, mosaic tiling and oak timbers. The food follows suit, making the most of native ingredients and treating them sympathetically.
House favourites span everything from poached egg with crusty Parmesan, bacon, potatoes and sauté mushrooms to Amaretto parfait with coffee syrup.
