'Extreme hedonism in spectacular surroundings', quipped the Washington Post about Alma de Cuba - one of the 'hippest and hottest' bars in the country and voted the UK's Best Venue 2008. It's a dazzler of a place, extravagantly converted from an eighteenth-century church resplendent with stained glass windows, wall-mounted antlers and opulent arrays of candles.
The ground-floor throbs with life as the potent cocktails flow and the music plays: there are weekly salsa classes, Latin nights and a Brazilian carnival atmosphere at weekends with exotic Brazilian dancers and petal drops.
