This fine old building lays claim to being one of the most venerable coaching inns in Britain. The site dates back to 1203, although much of the present building started life around the fourteenth century, when it was a hostel for the chivalrous Brotherhood of the Knights of the Garter.

For a casual meal dine in Berties Bistro - a vibrant ground-floor bistro that is elegant, airy and spacious, but retains all the charm of an old English Inn.
