Anokaa's contemporary glass frontage is just a stone's throw from the Salisbury Playhouse and City Hall, making it a prime destination for business types and theatregoers. This is one of the new breed of Indian restaurants, with bold contemporary colour schemes, mirrored walls, fancy-looking plates and a menu that moves beyond curry house clichés.

Assorted homemade pickles and condiments set the ball rolling, before a raft of intriguing appetisers including stuffed, deep-fried zucchini flowers with asparagus raita, Gujarati pakoras, and grilled marinated monkfish with cumin and dried chilles.
