At night you can't fail to notice the revolving rainbow of colours that illuminates the glass frontage of this stylish Belsize Park restaurant Artigiano (the name means 'craftsman'), and on fine days the frontage opens out so that the whole place becomes al fresco.
The kitchen works to a regularly changing menu of modern Italian dishes, with some novel twists especially in the pasta department: look for sea bass ravioli with tomatoes and capers or linguine with lobster, olive oil, Amalfi tomatoes and chilli.
Elsewhere, old-school favourites are given a shake-up - as in almond-crusted black cod with mangetout and ginger sauce or roast duck breast with marinate fennel and vegetable mille-feuille.
