This famous Thames-side hotel takes its name from Izaak Walton's classic seventeenth-century book on angling, and makes the most of its fabulous location overlooking the rushing waters of Marlow Weir. Following the departure of chef Dean Timpson, it's now home to an out-of-town branch of the auspicious Aubergine - a Michelin-starred veteran of the Chelsea dining scene.

The kitchen makes admirable use of locally sourced ingredients for a menu that - like its elder sibling - majors in top-end French haute cuisine with a modern accent.
