Aumbry Review

Aumbry is a gem of a neighbourhood restaurant located in Prestwich, just four miles north of Manchester's city centre and this intimate restaurant with just 26 covers is set in a converted cottage is one of Manchester's stars. Overlooked by the miniscule open kitchen, where husband and wife team Mary-Ellen McTague and Laurence Tottingham prepare the food, Aumbry has a minimalist décor with painted white chairs, simply laid tables on wood flooring, an antique dresser in the corner, and a picture of Dennis Hopper on the wall.

Mary-Ellen and Laurence learnt there craft under legendary chef Heston Blumenthal at his three-Michelin starred Fat Duck restaurant in Bray.
