Engagingly run by husband-and-wife team Chris and Christine Benarab, Azou on Hammersmith's vibrant King Street, brightly evokes North Africa with its colourful décor and full-blooded food. The name translates roughly as 'cherish' and it's certainly an apt moniker: nothing is too much trouble and customers quickly become friendly regulars.
The kitchen specialises in its own distinctive versions of couscous and tagines involving olives, preserved lemons, almonds, pomegranate and much more as the essential partners for chicken, lamb and seafood.
