Back to Basics, 'A Seafood Lover's Delight' is how the owners describe this Foley Street effervescent and entertaining fixture of the Fitzrovia / Bloomsbury scene: how right they are. Tables outside are at a premium when the weather is being kind; otherwise relax inside, enjoy the happy hubbub and take note of the nautical bric-a-brac, the sea-blue mosaic around the bar and the big spherical glass lampshades.
All eyes eventually turn to the massive board headed 'Today's Catch': it's an ever-changing feast dependent on 'the weather, demands and fishermen's moods', but you might be tempted by monkfish with spicy prawn couscous and garlic butter, scallops with watercress, sweet chilli dressing and sour cream or fillet of mackerel with lentils, red onion marmalade and Halloumi.
