The Winchester suburb of Weeke is the location for this reliable 'new-style' Indian restaurant. Banish any thoughts of heavy flock wallpaper, plastic plants and velvet drapes: instead, polished wood floors, bare tables, high-backed chairs and primary colours set the mood, embellished with real plants and abstract art.
Tandooris, biryanis, dhansaks and other curry house stalwarts still claim their place on the long menu, but they are joined by less predictable specialities such as monkfish tikka, duck breast prepared with Rajastani spices, and Sylheti lamb chops (cooked with papaya and coconut cream).
