Claiming the title of London's first Thai restaurant, Bangkok was opened by the redoubtable Toot Bunnag way back in the late '60s and is still going strong. Inside, it might seem short on elbow-room and décor, but there are interesting paintings on the walls (some for sale) and the atmosphere is exceedingly convivial.
Dishes are cooked to order within view of the customers and the menu focuses on the staples of the cuisine (with some obvious Chinese influences).
