Situated in a pretty village a few miles west of Salisbury, the listed Barford Inn has been providing sustenance since the sixteenth century and even used to brew its own beer for travellers and locals. Things have changed a great deal since then: the original brewhouse has been turned into the main restaurant, and the historic courtyard is now a popular spot for al fresco eating and drinking.
The pub's beamed bars are still frequented by drinkers and those looking for something light to eat: there are locally brewed real ales on draught and a menu of pub grub favourites ranging from beer-battered haddock and chips to Wiltshire ham and eggs.
