There's a cosy intimacy about David and Sandie Barnard's likeable village restaurant, which has been a durable feature of the Hampshire scene for a good many years. Warm yellow colour schemes, exposed brick walls and floral prints create an appropriately domestic backdrop for food that follows a well-tried path.

Fresh ingredients are deployed judiciously, both on the carte and the good-value set menus.
