Bell's Diner Review

A stalwart of the Bristol scene since it first opened its doors in 1976, Bell's Diner occupies the site of an old grocer's shop in the Montpelier district of the city. Chef/proprietor Christopher Wicks has been the guiding spirit behind the place for a number of years and his commitment to local produce, organics and wild food is as enthusiastic as ever.

His cooking is shot through with vivid Mediterranean ideas – witness red onion and goats' cheese tart with frisée and walnut dressing, monkfish risotto with herbs and deep-fried leeks, or pot-roast guinea fowl with orange, sage, Anna potatoes and green beans.
