The Black Lion Restaurant Review
In the historic St Michael's quarter of St Albans, not far from the park, lakes and the world-famous Abbey, the eighteenth-century, brick-built Black Lion Inn now operates as a traditional hostelry-with-rooms. It also has the bonus of a modern refurbished restaurant that mixes original oak beams and slate floors with chrome lighting and sophisticated contemporary design features.
New chef Matthew Johnson is already making an impact and in 2010 the restaurant was one of the nominees for 'Best Restaurant' at the St Alban's food and wine festival in October.
