Borrowdale Gates Country House Hotel Review

Take a long leisurely drive down a lane by the edge of Derwent Water ('The Queen of the English Lakes') to reach this old-fashioned country house hotel, which nestles peacefully in two acres of wooded gardens on the edge of the ancient hamlet of Grange.

There are dramatic views from the windows of the dining room (during daylight, anyway) and guests can look forward to country house cooking very much in the traditional mould.
