Bouchon Bistrot Review

A beautiful honey-hued, three-storey, imposing stone building opposite Hexham swimming pool is the setting for this engaging slice of rural France in Northumberland. Chef/proprietor Gregory Bureau hails from the Loire Valley and has done time with some of the North-East's big players including Terry Laybourne and David Kennedy.

His own gaff is laid out on two floors, with casual dining at ground level and more formal meals served upstairs amid aubergine walls, wood floors and sunflowers in vases.
