The village of Ramsey lies deep in the Fens between Peterborough and Huntingdon, and is famous for its abbey, which was one of the most important monastic buildings in England during medieval times: the ancient Gatehouse is now owned by the National Trust.
Right on the high street, in the heart of the conservation area, is the Bow Window restaurant – a fifteenth-century building serving a range of French and international dishes in atmospheric surroundings.
