The Broad Chare is the latest venture from restaurateur Terry Laybourne's company, the 21 Hospitality Group, set on Newcastle's Quayside it has been developed in partnership with the adjoining Live Theatre complex where his Italian restaurant Caffè Vivo is located. This traditional city pub is housed over two floors, the ground floor is where you can have a quiet drink or bar snack, while the full menu is available upstairs in the dining room, with its stripped wood floors, leather banquettes set against simply laid solid wood tables and chairs.
Heading the kitchen is Chris Eagle who joined the group as an apprentice in 2002 and was previously the sous chef at Laybourne's popular Cafe 21.
