This Grade-II listed country mansion is set in five acres of tranquil grounds close to the rugged beauty of Snowdonia National Park, with gardens running down to the sea. Bron Eifion is a personally run place and the owners have preserved its character and history throughout: pre-dinner drinks are served in the stately Great Hall with its minstrels' gallery and lofty timbered roof, while the conservatory-style Orangery Restaurant offers something more light and airy.
The kitchen looks far and wide for inspiration, offering the likes of crab ravioli with saffron risotto, fillet of lemon sole baked in prawn and scallop sauce, local duck with redcurrant and red pepper sauce, and desserts including vanilla-poached pear or chocolate fondant with peanut ice cream.
