Browns Hotel is a lovingly-restored 17th century coaching inn set in the centre of Tavistock and it oozes old English charm with its cosy open hearths, warm oak beams, exposed stonework and slate flags subtly enhancing its chic contemporary makeover. At the heart of the hotel is its multi award winning restaurant.
Twice winners of the South West Chef of the Year award, the kitchen works through an ever changing repertoire of dishes that may range from roasted breast of wood pigeon, walnut gnocchi, Jerusalem artichokes with confit shallots or smooth foie gras and chicken liver parfait, white truffle oil, vegetables a la grecque and sherry caramel to seared loin of venison, fig gallette, roasted beetroot, fine beans and hazelnuts.
