At first glance, Twickenham's Brula Bistrot may look slightly ecclesiastical with its stained glass windows, sturdy pews and dark wood fittings, but there's nothing reverential about the happy atmosphere that pervades this much-loved St Margaret's neighbourhood venue. The surroundings are also ideally suited to functions and celebratory events, and Brula Bistrot is much in demand as a venue for private dining, weddings and conferences.
The kitchen deals in old-school French cooking along the lines of carrot and ginger soup, escargots bourgogne, roast breast of Barbary duck with peas à la française and braised leg of lamb with persillade, bolstered by fish dishes such as roast cod with Puy lentils and salsa verde.
