Housed in a quaint seventeenth-century building in the heart of historic Norwich city centre, David Brummell's long-serving restaurant makes a charming and intimate place in which to enjoy international seafood cookery.
Rustic beamed décor and flickering candles set the mood, and the menu spans the globe for ideas. Grilled sardine fillets spiked with chilli oil are served on a bed of marinated beansprouts, blackened swordfish comes with a citrus mustard dressing, while steamed sea bass appears with prawn butter, ginger and leeks.
Meat eaters are not neglected, with options such as pan-fried calf's liver on warm courgette cherry tomato stew or roast lamb neck fillet with snails, shallots and streaky bacon, as well as steaks and venison.
