As much of a fixture of Yorkshire life as nearby Headingley Cricket Ground, this legendary venue has been dispensing incomparable fish and chips since John Bryan set up shop in 1934. The original stone cottage still houses the takeaway, but the place can now seat more than 100 happy souls in its various extensions.
Haddock is king hereabouts, and you can choose your own size ('regular' 'baby' or 'jumbo'); otherwise ring the changes with hake or halibut.
