Burlton is little more than a tiny hamlet, tucked away on the road between Ellesmere and Shrewsbury, but this eighteenth-century, family-run pub still manages to pull in the crowds. The inn is ablaze with flowers during the summer months, and as cosy as can be when winter closes in.
The menu caters for just about every taste, from plates of tapas, baked salmon fillet with mango, melon, grapefruit and avocado salsa, and Thai pasta salad with coriander dressing to lamb shank with mint mash, burgers or steak, kidney and beer pie.
