'Tuscany-upon-Thames' could be the moniker for this wonderfully relaxed venue Cantina del Ponte, which is part of the Conran-inspired gastro-complex (now D&D London) on Butlers Wharf at Shad Thames. Great views, terracotta floors and a mural depicting an Italian marketplace enhance the sunny Mediterranean glow.

Here you can feast on tuna steak with caponata and pistachio sauce, breast of guinea fowl with truffled asparagus and Fontina sauce, noisettes of spring lamb with green peas and mustard sauce or roast rabbit with polenta and black olives.
