Established by the Matteo family in 1988 and extended in 1996, this reputable seafood restaurant occupies part of Glasgow's old Merchant City quarter, a short walk from George Square.
The kitchen deals in all kinds of fish and shellfish from near and far, so expect things like seared king scallops on spinach leaves with kedgeree, fillet of Shetland salmon with sweet potato, pink peppercorns, tomato and coriander dressing and collops of monkfish with tagliatelle, as well as giant seafood platters.
Meat eaters will also find plenty to consider, in the shape of haggis with neeps and tatties, roast duck breast with prunes, sweet ginger and marmalade sauce, and medallions of venison with a herb and black pudding dumpling, malt whisky and rowan jelly jus.
