Built from the same stone as nearby Bolton Abbey, the lustrous Devonshire Arms and Burlington Restaurant started life as a seventeenth-century coaching house and it's now one of the most desirable jewels on the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire's Estate. Old architectural drawings, polished antique tables, fine china and crystal add an air of elegant serenity to the two small dining rooms; there's also a contemporary conservatory with views across the Italianate garden towards Wharfedale.
