A gem of a rural pub set high above the wooded slopes of the Teign Valley, the Drewe Arms will forever be remembered as 'Auntie Mabel's'. The reason? Britain's longest serving landlady – the redoubtable Mabel Mudge – presided over this ancient thatched inn for 75 years before retiring in 1996 aged 99.
Current licensees have kept faith the history and unique traditions of the pub: they dispense real ales direct from the cask, and have even named the modest restaurant Mabel's Kitchen.
