Duisdale Country House Hotel Review

Built as a great hunting lodge for the Chief of Clan Macdonald in the 1860s, this Victorian mansion has changed very little with time – although it now boasts up-to-the-minute facilities. It's hidden away to the south of the Island (between the Skye Bridge and the Armadale ferry terminal) in an area known as the Garden of Skye, only 300 yards from the beach.

A superb collection of original blue-and-white china plates is the most striking feature of the dining room: they complement the Delft tiles that were imported from Holland when the house was built.
