Eslington Villa Hotel, a proud-looking red-brick mansion, is set in two acres of landscaped grounds overlooking the Team Valley. Built around 1880 for local business tycoon it originally comprised two villas, and those wanting to eat can choose between the dining room in the original building and the new conservatory in a glassed-in veranda.

The kitchen deals in a broadly based repertoire jazzed up with a few inventive flourishes.
