Privately run by the Petite family since 1984, this greatly extended Victorian residence stands in nine acres of landscaped grounds and – over the years – it has established a strong reputation for its leisure, spa and banqueting facilities, as well as its food.
During the week, brasserie-style lunches are a major attraction, and you are welcome to have just one course from a menu that offers dishes like moules marinière, chicken Caesar salad and heartier offerings such as braised steak and kidney pudding.
In the evening, diners can pick from the classic 'best of the best' carte or try something from the chef's 'seasonal speciality' menu.
