Farsyde Review

Gavin Beedham's fixture of the Ilkley scene moved from its rather cramped premises beneath Betty's Tea Rooms in 2003 and is now firmly entrenched opposite Ilkley parish church. The current place is comfortable, has more elbow room, better views and - most important of all - still delivers rock-solid cooking.

Lunchtime shoppers and the office crowd are offered great value-menus that move onwards and upwards from risottos and pasta dishes to ribeye of beef garnished with black pudding, bacon and a poached egg with thyme sauce; there are also attractive mid-week early evening deals.

The full dinner menu aims for something a tad more ambitious, although prices are still respectable.
