Field & Fork is a calm retreat situated within the Pallant House Gallery (with a separate entrance in East Pallant), this relaxed venue is an ideal daytime pit-stop for shoppers, office workers and visitors to the town. It is also excellent for special occasions and has the bonus of an al fresco dining area: 'the courtyard area is marvellous and sitting there you would not believe you were in the centre of Chichester,' observed one UK Restaurant Guide reporter.
Light lunch menus give way to 2-3 course evening menus kicking off with perhaps Parmesan glazed poached egg tartlet with smoked pancetta and spinach or warm Rocamadour goats cheese, marinade beetroots with pear and walnuts before poached breast of free range duck, purple sprouting broccoli and aromatic vegetable broth or a fillet of locally caught cod with spiced lentils, crayfish and salsa verde.
