Spectacular views over lawns and gardens towards Rutland Water (Europe's largest man-made lake) are one the major attractions at this gentrified seventeenth-century farmhouse pub/restaurant. Current owners are doing great things here and have succeeded in maintaining the tricky balance between local watering hole and fully-fledged gastro pub.
There's a wonderfully animated atmosphere in the two flag-floored and beamed rooms, which are linked by a wood panelled bar counter dispensing locally brewed real ale as well as a host of wines by the glass.
