Fowey Hall, Hansons Restaurant Review

Commanding a spectacular elevated position overlooking the Fowey towards Polruan, this fine luxury family hotel (part of the Von Essen group) was built in 1899 by the Lord Mayor of London and its château-like façade is thought to be the inspiration for 'Toad Hall' in that classic literary tale 'The Wind in the Willows'.

The oak-panelled Hansons Restaurant with its lavish baroque plasterwork, gilt mirrors and vaulted ceilings makes a sumptuous backdrop for elegant meals in the modern mode.
