Reassuringly old-fashioned, Gatti's on Finsbury Avenue nevertheless puts on an urbane, sophisticated face for City lunchers and those wanting something more intimate in the evening.
The menu covers most of the staples of the trattoria repertoire with a few twists here and there. Seafood salad, melon and mushrooms cooked with olive oil, garlic and parsley feature among the starters; pasta includes homemade ravioli filled with chicken and veal in a butter and sauce sauce, while main courses range from Dover sole meunière to veal escalope Milanese.
