High-flying Midlands' entrepreneur, Sue Hawkins, is the driving force behind this rejuvenated coaching inn. Formerly a run-down, town-centre boozer, the George is now a bright new boutique hotel and restaurant full of style and pizzazz.
The chic, contemporary restaurant has been given something of the feel of a gentlemen's club, with dark aubergine panelling, olive-green suede chairs, huge Louis XV mirrors and a piano that niftily opens to reveal drawers of cutlery.
