George and Dragon Review

The George and Dragon is a beautiful 18th century coaching inn that can be found in the village of Clifton near Penrith. It has been sympathetically restored by local craftsmen, using stone slate flags together with design and colours relating to the Georgian period. It is owned by the same family as the Lowther Estate which provides much of the produce for the kitchen including the rare breeds of beef, pork and lamb, as well as game such as Roe and Red Deer.
