The Globe Review
The Globe Tavern was built in 1735 at the time of the building of Marylebone road and it has a long list of famous patrons in the past including Charles Dickens, William Pitt the younger and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The Globe is still occupied by the ghost of William Thornton, a former publican who died there in suspicious circumstances in 1836.
Today the Globe remains much as it was in the 18th Century and serves traditional pub food of good quality like the fish and chips which are par excellence; home made pies and special sausages for your bangers and mash.
