The richly appetising name 'Goose Fat & Garlic' might conjure up juicy thoughts of provincial France, but this popular restaurant/wine bar inhabits another world - in this case the pretty Hertfordshire village of Sawbridgeworth. It's a busy, inviting place done out in contemporary style with big windows, dark wood floors and warm colour schemes setting the mood in the bar and the dining room.
Modern European food with a few oriental add-ons is the order of the day, and the full menu might open with confit of duck and ham hock terrine or deep-fried goats' cheese with pineapple and sweet chilli salsa.
