Set up more than 20 years ago by Adam Jones, Granvilles started life as a tea room but has evolved into one of Staffordshire's best known independent 'restaurant and music' venues. The location is named after Earl Granville of Stone Park (Gladstone's foreign secretary), but the place is now bang up-to-date with most of the action on the ground floor, plus a cocktail bar upstairs and a secluded garden out back.
On the food front, expect an eclectic mix of easy food, ranging from Thai-style mussels and butternut squash curry to ham hock terrine with piccalilli, roast rump of lamb with apricot and rosemary sauce, and fillet steak with fries.
