Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1901, owned by the Weaver family since 1924 and run by them as a hotel since 1948, Greywalls ranks as one of the most venerable country houses in the land. Despite its name, the curving house is actually built of honey-coloured stone, complete with a sunken garden designed by Gertrude Jekyll, tennis courts and – of course – Muirfield golf course on its doorstep.
This is Albert Roux's third Chez Roux restaurant in Scotland serving French classical cuisine with a flair and lightness, using the finest of local produce whenever possible.
