The Griffin has been Fletching's focal point since the sixteenth century and it's every inch the traditional English inn – with a few extra attractions for good measure. A splendid tiered garden (complete with herbs and a barbecue) is a major plus, likewise the glorious setting and magnificent views over Sheffield Park and the Sussex countryside.
Regular crowds testify to the enduring popularity of the pub, but standards rarely falter and the whole place runs at the top of its game : no wonder it was recently named Sussex Dining Pub of the Year 2008 by the Good Pub Guide.
