The Grill at The Dorchester Review

The Dorchester's iconic, venerable restaurant has been given a welcome shot in the arm of late. Hushed reverence has been replaced by animated bonhomie, although the decor is still a riot of Scottish baronial overkill. Murals of fierce-looking Highlanders cover the tartan walls, but there are precious few signs of the Auld Alliance on the plate.

Following the departure of high-flying chef Aiden Byne to open a gastropub in Cheshire, his place has been taken by Brian Hughson - hot foot from Gary Rhodes W1 Restaurant at the Cumberland Hotel.
