The Haandi restaurant group began in Nairobi, but owner Ray Bhangra eventually brought his ideas to London and opened this swish outlet right opposite Harrods on Brompton Road Knightsbridge to celebrate the millennium.
Inside it is done out in shades of yellow, brown and orange, but the main talking point is the theatrical glassed-in kitchen where diners can watch the chefs beavering away with knives, pans and skewers.
The menu focuses on high-class Punjabi cooking with a few regional add-ons.
