Formerly the Horse & Groom, this neighbourhood boozer opposite Lambeth North tube station is now a thoroughbred bar and restaurant with dark panelling, dappled walls and a spectacular 'library' room upstairs for private bashes.

At lunchtime, the place does a roaring trade in food thanks to a menu that promises Mediterranean salads, pork and apple sausages with mash, tortilla wraps with shredded duck, and cold poached salmon with asparagus and watercress.
