Recently taken over by the Soho House Group, the Hoxton Grill (note the new spelling, no longer Hoxton Grille) still struts its stuff on the ground floor of the Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch. Chic Parisian bistro meets hip New York steakhouse, with high energy levels, graffiti-style screen prints, paintings on cowhides, oversized lampshades and mustard leather banquettes defining the mood; doors open out onto an alfresco courtyard complete with an olive tree and pergolas.
Breakfast and brunch are godsends for the clubbing set, and the all-day menu covers a lot of ground from chicken Caesar salad and Maryland crab cakes to lemon meringue pie and waffles with blueberries and crème fraîche.
