Dramatic displays of ethnic artefacts, carvings, statues and masks from Bali and other parts of South East Asia create just the right exotic mood in Jakarta, an intimate Colindale restaurant decorated in warm earthy tones.

Specialities from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and even China crop up on the lengthy menu, although ristafel (a famed Indonesian 'rice table' feast involving at least seven different dishes) is the star attraction for those who want to share and commune.
