Jan and Freddie Clarke are the ebullient duo behind this lively brasserie in the centre of Dartmouth, within walking distance of the boats and the river and simply called Jan and Freddies Brasserie. Between them, they have created an upbeat, casual venue with tables at the front and a buzzy bar towards the rear.

Chef Richard Hilson trained with Michael Caines at Gidleigh Park and the Royal Clarence, so he is in tune with the region's supplies and producers.
